Hello! I wanted to kickstart my very first blog post on RescueTheHoles, it has been a journey working on this Mixed Reality Project over the last few months. Many of my friends and early supporters told me I should blog about my journey and development, and share it over social media early.
It first started with my purchase of the Meta Quest 3 and I wanted to learn how to build a mixed reality app on it. I have built several mobile game apps before, but building on an XR goggle would be a totally difference experience, and I wanted to make use of the full benefits and experience of XR goggles.
I played around with various concepts, from shooting to puzzles, and eventually chanced upon an old Wire Loop game which I played when I was really young, at an amusement park event. It reminded me of old science experiments where I had to avoid touching metal wires, by controlling my psychomotor skills.
While I found that this concept maximized my focus and determination, it was not exactly easy and fun in the beginning, so I looked at combining elements from other trap puzzle games such as Super Mario, which definitely made it more interesting.
Even today, I am still experimenting with new level designs and concepts to make it more challenging, yet fun and engaging.
Here's to my first post, and do support me!
